I love out of town weddings. There is something amazing about driving down the 101 in the short bus blasting music (or NPR) and arriving in a whole new town to make someone’s wedding come to life. Elena was a STUNNING bride and it was even more special that my dear friend Rosemary was one of her bridesmaids. This one was also special because I got to pick up my dear friend Beth in SLO to be my assistant for the day. As a coordinator and florist, it’s surprisingly wonderful to show up to a wedding, set up the flowers and then LEAVE! I heard the party was rockin and the setting couldn’t have been more ideal.
So i’ve never done this before, but since Elena was from out of town and we had only talked on the phone and email, I felt like it needed to happen. She had given me a beautiful vision for what she wanted her bouquet to look like. I did it and didn’t really fall in love with it once it was in my hands. But I wanted to respect her vision and since everyone’s style is different, I made it for her. But i decided to make a second one too. I actually made 2 of all the bouquets to show her so that she can choose. I’m glad I did because we both ended up agreeing on the new vision and I’m so thankful I had the extra time to make it happen!
The ceremony was in the most remote part of the park. I seriously didn’t think my little van was going to make it up the hill. I was really confused if I was going the right way until I got to the top and looked out. It was a stunning, top of the world feeling overlooking the ocean. No bathrooms. No buildings. Just handmade benches and a wedding. LOVED IT.
Thanks Elena and Matt for letting us be a part of your beautiful day! We wish you ALL the best!
