A year late? No problem. Janelle is a dear friend of mine from college and she got married to a wonderful man, Adam. I was so blessed to be a part of their amazing day and to journey with them after (which usually looks like a NKOTB concert or random travels on a whim to see eachother). Although surrounded by creative people, they let me help design parts of their wedding and it was such a blast. Their venue, Los Angeles Design Center, was an undiscovered diamond in the rough (mostly used for photo shoots and Quinceañeras).
Their theme was HOME. I love a theme when it is actually a theme. Each area that guests went was a different room in the house (dining room, backyard, living room…etc). They collected newspapers from EACH GUEST’S HOMETOWN to be the place mat. And to top it off–breakfast for dinner and mimosas. Did I love it? DUH.
I got to make custom table number signs out of old wood, salvaged house numbers and knobs/knockers. The flowers were placed on books and we brought in some living room furniture and chairs to make the space warmer. I also made chandeliers to flank the stage and bring some height/charm.
And now a few photos from my personal instagram…Brian Jensen used his graphic skills to design their look and graphic design:
Congrats Janelle and Adam. Manhattens, boy bands and talk of theology next time we’re in the same town.
